The function of the oil pan is to seal the bottom shell of the crankcase or gearbox (gearbox) as the oil storage tank, prevent impurities from entering, and collect and store lubricating oil flowing back from the surface of gears and other surfaces. The heat is dissipated through the metal shell to prevent oxidation of the lubricating oil. Its function determines that it needs to have a high standard of sealing. The oil pan, as the outer shell of the oil storage tank, is mostly made of thin steel plate stamped and has a complex shape. It is generally cast into shape using cast iron or aluminum alloy. There are two difficulties in leak detection for the oil pan. Firstly, how should we conduct an airtightness test on the complex appearance of the oil pan? The second is that there are no holes on the oil pan, which is a single metal part. How can gas be filled in? If the detection method of the oil pan airtightness tester is used, how can gas be retained and stabilized? For oil pan leak detection using an oil pan airtightness tester, the oil pan airtightness system is generally divided into three modules: oil pan airtightness tester equipment, air source, and oil pan leak fixture. Tooling is a motorized equipment for the overall detection instrument. For tooling, corresponding tooling molds (usually with air holes at the bottom of the tooling) can be equipped according to different shapes or details of the oil pan. A sealed detection space is formed between the mold and the detected oil pan, and the oil pan airtightness instrument is activated and inflated into this sealed detection space, Then, the precision sensor inside the oil pan airtightness tester will determine whether there is a leak in the product, and determine the result based on the set parameters. Then, the result will be given through the OK light or NG light (and sound) on the front panel of the oil pan airtightness tester.
